Ascent Trip Report

Monte Croce di Muggio, 1799m, P867m

Map: IGC sheet 22, 1:50k, 50m contours

Stats: 1mi, 320mH

Time: 24 Aug 2008, 1h round trip.

Start: From S, Rifugio Vittoria.

Route: Trail from Refuge car park, through grass, faint at first, becoming more obvious on climb to ridge, then following E ridge to summit.

Difficulties: None on the hill - grassy thoroughout, although the road approach is a little complicated.

Triangulation point: None mapped nor found.

Summit: Fairly compact, grassy; Fancy metal cross on a concrete base. Walk a little way W for a nice view down the ridge. Fine views, although Grigna a little disappointing in the afternoon light.

Notes: We arrived late afternoon, having climbed Grigna Settentrionale earlier that day. The drive between the two is a little complicated, and the drive up from the valley to Rif Vittoria was difficult as there were many vehicles descending and the roads are narrow with many zig-zags. It is a nice easy climb with a good view.
