Ascent Trip Report2 of 7 of my New England Highpoint Adventure
Camped for Free on along Haystack Road Twin Mountain, New Hampshire. It's closed for car traffic now but you are allowed to camp. Started hiking at 8am. The ranger at Pinkham Knotch said 70mph Gusts...be careful. The hike was very enjoyable and the wind didn't get Ridiculous until the parking lot / visitor center. Average Wind speed for the day was 54.5mph and the max gust was 90mph. A pretty windy day for Mt Washington! On the way down the rain started. Mostly a light drizzle. But not so light when 50mph winds are coming with it. My right knee was hurting so I took it really easy on the way down.
State Highpoint #15
