Ascent Trip Report

Jag had us climb up a ridge on the opposite site on Judy Peak, in hopes to getting to the top then all the way to Earl. Due to reaching to cornices near the top, we ended up backtracking down. We almost called it a day, because Joanne and I were getting so tired and running out of energy. But Jag encouraged us to keep moving and making an attempt to summit Earl. We backtracked and took the route I took last summer. I think we would've had a lot more energy had we started out taking the trail to the basin and then up, but Jag wanted to take the route he had taken from the week before. It was the route they took on their descent. Thankfully, Jag and Khanh really helped on getting us to the top by trail breaking and being patient, so we all made it, and I even found the summit register!

First day long outing in months (and did I really get it, lol). 12 hour RT hiking, making this the longest day trip since Mt. Baker last July. Hiked on the road for half a mile each way. First to reach the summit after dropping our packs. Summited at 5:15ish. Got back to the car by 8:26pm. Stats are based on Jag's GPS.
