Ascent of South Johnson Hill on 2014-04-25
|Date:||Friday, April 25, 2014|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
|Peak:||South Johnson Hill|
| Elevation:||1398 ft / 426 m|
Ascent Trip ReportI parked at the trailhead on Wilderness Road, and began the short run/hike to South Johnson Hill. I went north from the trailhead and then took the first left. After a short distance, I went off the road, and hiked north through the meadow, which was logged in the relatively recent past. I encountered many thorns, but I eventually met up with a cleared path that is mostly free of thorns (this path is visible on the satellite image). After reaching the north end of the meadow, I continued north through open woods, and roamed around a bit before noticing the cairn, and I signed in. For my descent, I followed the path through the meadow all the way down toward the road.
