Ascent Trip ReportParked next to St Mary's Church in Byton, despite the somewhat unfriendly notices, I reckoned all my contributions to the Church of England over the years justified doing this. Walked up the track, forking left through a gate on the re-routed right of way. At the top of the track, through another gate, as I emerged from the woodland I veered left and made a more or less direct ascent across the fields to the trig point and thence over some fences to the highly wooded summit area. The top is unmarked among rough ground by an oak tree. I returned via the Mortimer Trail which was a slightly more pleasant route.
