Ascent of Garway Hill on 2014-04-10
|Date:||Thursday, April 10, 2014|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||366 m / 1201 ft|
Ascent Trip ReportA very fine hill of high prominence and extensive views. The hills just get better and better in this region as you get closer to Wales (the valleys and villages get less pretty, but that's another matter).
I wasn't aware there was a large parking area at the end of the track at SO 443247 so I left the car on the verge further up the minor road by the algae-covered phone box. At least that way I got to see the enigmatic finger-post at the start of the track. An easy steady ascent up a broad path to the summit area with its grassy knoll, trig point and brick-built WW2 structure. Returned on a more-easterly track for variety.
