Ascent Trip Report

500th ascent - With that in mind, I figure I had better jot down a few notes about the hike. To begin with there are 3 main locations to start your hike = the top of 22nd Street, top of 27th and at the top of 29th Street, all in Ogden. Regardless which entry point you choose to start on up this popular peak expect roughly 2100 feet of vertical and 5 1/2 miles RT. Don't forget on weekends you'll have plenty of company any season. Spring hikes can be icy, summer hot(!), fall quite nice and during winter a nice amount of snow from time to time. Come prepared for whatever.

Todays hike was nice down below but at the upper 2 switchbacks encountered a fair amount of snow for early April. Quite nice to have the "summit" all to myself for one of my final hikes/climbs of Malans. I'm thinking that with 500 ascents now behind me its time to refocus. In less than two years, one million+ vertical feet and over 2700 miles on ol' Malans.
