Ascent Trip Report

A short easy trail hike for our 3rd summit of the day.... .8 miles, 35 minutes RT

From the bridge over the Schoharie River in Middleberg we drove south on Hwy #145 for .9 miles to a left on CR 66 (Cotton Hill Road), 3.2 miles north we turned left on Treadle Mire Road and in .8 miles arrived at the TH parking on the right. Unfortunately a foot of snow carpeted the wooded area.
I followed the aqua blazed trail (bends right before turning left and heading northeast) .4 miles to the summit, passing a lean-to near the summit. A beautiful open forest of tall pines adorns the ridge.
The snow covered trail had foot traffic so the going was easy.

The HP is fairly obvious, a Witness Post Survey Marker is nailed to a tree, unfortunately I couldn't see the BM because of the snow.

We drove to our next stop, Canady Hill, just to the southeast, only to find it snow covered. I didn't like the looks of my planned route, a bushwack from the east side on moderately-steep/rocky terrain, so I decided to leave it for another day. After all, we came down here to get away from the snow.

We moved on east to Irish Hill.
