|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Motorized Transport to Trailhead:||Hi-Clearance Vehicle|
| Elevation:||5045 ft / 1537 m|
Ascent Trip ReportEasy. Most important thing to note is that the 5045' is lower than the LO tower so make sure you hit both or even just do the LO. It's pretty obvious once you are there that the LO is highest. Palo Escrito, which is 600' lower rose up in the background significantly above the 5045' summit with eye level at the ground from the LO summit.
Trip is easy, just driving. I came from the NW on Carmel Valley to the G16 to Tassajarda Road. All public. Road are fine although the last mile after White Oaks Campground gets rough and you might want high clearance 2WD. Worst case could walk from campground. I parked at 4860' at the saddle at a locked gate. The ascent was made miserable by the sound of automatic machine gun fire by folks parked at the saddle. Just walk the road to the LO (take obvious left fork). Continue past LO and onward to hit the other summit. Some views. All public. Dull. Like ten minutes each way, max.
