Ascent Trip Report

Knockin' on Heaven's Door... Ascended a large, rushing drainage from Going-to-the-Sun Road amidst overcast conditions. Clawed our way uphill and eventually reached an impressive series of snowfields and moraines near the cloud line. Ascended to the top of the Glacier Wall via a very loose Class III gully. Followed ridge until reaching the massive, parking lot sized slabs on the east face. We tried to ascend further, but terrain was too slippery, and with poor visibility we decided to turn around. Just as we finished descending the loose gully off the Glacier Wall, a brief hail storm further solidified our sound decision to retreat. Bushwhacked down through the forest and drainage back to our starting point. An epic failure!
