Ascent Trip Report

Picked up Spencer in Payson Utah on Jul 10th and proceeded to the Henry’s Fork Trailhead near Mountain View Wyoming. Backpacked in to Dollar Lake, spent the night, climbed up to Gunsight Pass then took off up the ridge for a bit of a shortcut to Anderson Pass. Bagged the peak at about 10 am. Descended down the chute near Anderson Pass, then stayed close to the base of the ridge as we worked our way back over to the trail coming down from Gunsight pass. I don't think this descent saved us any time over going down the same way we came up, plus I slipped on that section and scraped my hand. When we got back to camp at 1:30 we decided to pack up and head out that day rather than spend another night. The long day on my feet Friday left me with some blisters - but it was a good trip, I had a great time with my nephew, and kicked off my State High Point project!
