Ascent Trip Report

One of my longest day-hikes ever, and during Winter season no less.

I took advantage of lower-than-normal snow conditions; I did not hit constant snow until 4800' elevation.

There are approximately 55 blowdowns on the Long Ridge Trail, with half coming within a relatively short distance prior to the "Elev. 3500'" sign, and the other half of the blowdowns spread out over a longer distance between the sign and the upper meadows near the peak.

This peak has a fantastic view of Mount Olympus and the Bailey Range, which makes the whole trip worth the effort. However, I would mainly recommend this as an overnight trip because the roundtrip distance (28 miles) is quite a lot for a single day.
