Ascent Trip Report

Snow had the last few miles of the road closed and we couldn't get to the lunch counter due to avalanche risk so we made a bit longer hike up to our camp. The next morning we headed up to the summit - could have used crampons as we were kicking in steps the whole way up first major slope. We did put them on for the last leg to the summit. The best part of the trip was glissade down! If it wasn't such a slog to get back up, it would have been fun to do that again. Coming down from the summit my leg poked though at the bergschrund and I could see blue ice down in the hole as I carefully crawled out and resumed plunge stepping down the mountain.
