Ascent Trip ReportFull trip report: My son and I had decided to make the Lafayette loop the last big hike for the season. We got there early and ended up hiking the loop backwards from the masses (yes masses, we had to pass 300 people going the opposite direction). Spent some time at the hut (nice place). We had some good views on the way up but the clouds were low and after 4000-4500 it was like walking in a fog. We ended up talking to a couple guys on Truman that had inflatable Kayaks on there back (interesting). We continued on to Haystack and back to the parking lot (which was packed when we got back). If you go, start early. We will have to hike it again and go the other way on the trail, but on a day that we can see the view.
