Ascent Trip Report

... worried about access to these peaks, so chose a Saturday and drove to end of Beach Hill Road onto last homeowners property looking for permission to hike & was fortunate to meet a big barking dog, the lady of the house, and allowance to park / hike into woods up to Brodie's two northern summits. My following of immediate wood roads led to more bushwacking than needed, still tramped more or less thru mostly open woods. My descent from Brodie's East Mtn indicates the most direct path between North & East summits goes along the ridgeline by ATV churned trails and that its best access trail seems to continue down to a farm / field road off Beach Hill Rd. A wood rd passes right alongside brushy, wooded North Peak, with many, many roads about and with a little more clear thinking might have descended road at a trail junction to successfully stay on ridgeline. East Mtn's summit is topped with quite a MA Fire Control Tower, old trail blazing, obsolete ski area mechanism, and Windmills churning to the ridgeline's south, trail gated and now widest of service roads. Flurries in the air, trail up high snow dusted with a mountain cloudburst of flurry once down to Rte 7 with Jiminy Peaks Ski Trails white banded & lit. By car met homeowner, me exiting her property, with her entering as twilight was setting in, we chatted and she reminded me again it was hunting season, yet met absolutely no one, not even bears (been meeting bears).
