Ascent Trip Report

started at Taos Ski Valley in parking area near Bavarian Lodge. Brief break at Williams Lake due to rain and general cloudiness, so ascent was not a continuous hike. Left lake around noon. (Pics of lake area around 11:47 AM...)

Significant delay above 12,000 ft because of interactions with marmots and photography of herds of bighorn sheep. Apparently hit scree fields sometime between 3:30 and 4:00 because first shots of saddle are at 4:20. Longest 1/2 hour, ever. Hit top at roughly 4:30 PM. 10 and then 15 minutes or so with marmots at oasis and then higher at ridge before snowfield. Scree field burned most of an hour...

Return after significant delay at top also.

Trip time counting from Williams Lake to top only.
