Ascent Trip Report

A day's hiking in the rarely walked Tarren Hills range. Lying at the South-Western edge of the Snowdonia National Park, the two main peaks Tarrenhendre and Tarren y Gesail provide an enjoyably challenging day's walk with plenty of ascent and descent but very simple navigation (particularly from the South, starting in Pennal) but almost complete isolation - on the entire day we did not see another soul on either of the hills, almost unthinkable on a half-term week with glorious sunshine.

We did however get the customary complimentary RAF air-show for which this part of Wales is duly well known, including a memorably low over-flight by a Eurofighter.
