Ascent Trip ReportKelley and I climbed Sugg and Oakzanita Peaks from the East Mesa Fire Road from Highway 79. To access Sugg Peak, we hiked east, then northeast along the fire road about 1/4 mile from the 4870' saddle where a post says "Oakzanita Peak 1.6 miles" to an open area on the southeast side of the road. We were able to minimize the amount of brush that we had to go through by making our way through the open area to some visible slabs located on the northwest side of Sugg Peak, then up to a peaklet and over to the top of another set of slabs, then followed a use trail that was located to the right of a gulley to the summit. Afterwards, we climbed Oakzanita peak from the saddle via a very good trail.
