Ascent Trip Report

This was a one-nighter in the Enchantment Lakes area from Stewart Lake TH to Snow Lakes TH with Keating. At the onset of the hike, I saw no reason we couldn't tackle Dragonstail on the way -- then, from Colchuck Lake, I saw Dragonstail, towering above Aasgard Pass -- all covered in snow. We set out after lunch and, from about 1/3 up Aasgard, we knew we would be playing Dragonstail by ear! The snow on Aasgard was 50/50 snow and ice -- I donned the spikes about half way up. That portion of the ascent was about a "3hr-mile" and we were both thoroughly SPENT at the top of the pass. Continuing up DT did not even come up in conversation!! We glanced at it and continued along the very welcome flat terrain of the Upper Enchantments to Perfection Lake and set up Camp. We'll be back for Drangonstail and and Prusick Next year on a two-three night adventure! All in all, a glorious weekend!
