Ascent Trip ReportI planned to do the 14 mile walk "Black Hambleton by the Drove Road" (number 40 in my favourite single-volume book of UK/ROI hikes; Classic Walks: Mountain and Moorland Walks in Britain and Ireland, 1982, by Ken Wilson & Richard Gilbert), but the weather and views were so inviting and the ground underneath so favourable that I just kept walking beyond Osmotherley until daylight and legs started to fade, just as I reached the newly refurbished café at Lordstones. Two notable hills en route, expansive views and much up and down!
