Ascent of Greathouse Peak on 2013-10-10
|Date:||Thursday, October 10, 2013|
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||8681 ft / 2645 m|
Ascent Trip ReportAs of this summer (2013) there is a rebuilt, high quality, dirt road leading to public land where Swimming Woman Creek cuts the limestone canyon south of the summit. From there I walked to the summit using the west branch of the creek (see GPS route) leaving the trail at ~7,900 to avoid drifted snow. I descended via the east branch, making a nice loop; ~4.1 miles; 2,900' vertical.
