Ascent of Mount Weeks on 2013-10-05Others in Party: | Tom Smith Mary Guertin ----Only Party on Mountain | Date: | Saturday, October 5, 2013 | Ascent Type: | Successful Summit Attained | Peak: | Mount Weeks | Location: | USA-New Hampshire | Elevation: | 3901 ft / 1189 m |
Ascent Trip ReportI read the previous reports, and knew to park at the end of Herman Savage Rd and ask permission. We arrived rather early, so rather than wake up the resident(s), I left a note on the dashboard of the car stating we were hikers (not hunters) as we started a little after 7:30am.
I got a little confused getting to Pilot Ridge (peak). I misinterpreted the previous trip reports regarding Mt. Mary (new name) and which Pilot Peak it was. We ended up hitting the cabin, then Mt. Mary (Pilot SE) before I realized my mistake. Had to backtrack a bit.. Oh well.
It was a great day of hiking covering 17 peaks, 25 miles in 19 hours.
