Ascent Trip Reportcamped out above treeline in the tent with Patrick Berry and his dog Daisy. First big snow of the season and we were out camping in it! Had to get out of the tent at night to move snow away from the vents, thank god for the 800 fill SAR down jacket and booties! up early but not too early (like 6) and hiked up to the saddle with fuller, then made the traverse over to and up vermillion proper. Difficult to find footing in the scree with a foot of new snow on it but we were confident in no avalanche danger. Daisy made it to the summit and back to camp like a real trooper. I will never forget her face covered in icicles at the top of vermilion dollar coular in a whiteout. she had total blind faith for sure.... memorable but no summit views. Should have brought the skis.
