Ascent Trip ReportThe road was in better shape than it is generally reported to be. There was evidence of recent grading. I drove to the towers on top. No negative signage, and one rock painted with a peace symbol and the words "WELCOM WHITE MAN" along the way.
That said, I have noticed that the Navajo Parks and Recreation Department web site indicates "(Navajos consider Navajo Mountain as a sacred area, and ascending it is forbidden.)" But if you don't go looking for that information, you would never know. . .
