Ascent Trip Report

Started in Happy Isles on June 17, 2008 and ended on July 3, 2008. The John Muir Trail was the most challenging backpacking experience of my life. The summit of Mt. Whitney made for a truly climactic ending for a truly amazing trip. Ascending the passes along the way like Donohue, Silver, Selden, Muir, Mather, Glen, and Forester prepared me for the final ascent. Whitney was just like one more pass, 1300 feet higher than Forester. When they say the switchbacks on Whitney are "endless"...they are!
