Ascent Trip Report

Got to the trailhead late the night before and quickly set up camp to get some sleep. We decided to sleep in a little and then just go fast and light for the hike. Left the trailhead at 8:30am and started off. Really nice maintained trail and the miles just ticked by. Passed Dollar lake about 3 hrs later and started up Gunsight pass. Once we reached the pass we contoured around and across the open rock fields to Anderson Pass and the bottom of the long ridge scramble. Reached the top about 3:30pm with beautiful weather. Headed down via the Anderson Pass gully scramble. It was fairly steep, but not too bad. The worst part is trying not to kick rocks down on other people or avoid rocks broken loose by those above! Stopped at dollar lake to cook some supper for 45 minutes, then hit the trail again. Reached the car at 9pm just as it was getting dark.
