Ascent Trip Report

My father and I did Longs Peak and Battle Mountain. We wanted to add Storm Peak, but we were to tired and bad weather was coming in. We used the East Longs Peak Trail (Keyhole) up, and returned the same to Granite Pass where we got off trail to summit Battle Mountain. The weather was overcast and cool. On the way down we got hit with a short hail storm for 30 minutes through the trough, which made that part and the rest of the decent to the Keyhole very slippery and difficult. After summiting Battle Mountain we headed through open country straight to the Jim Groves Trail to intersect the East Longs Peak Trail at the Battle Mountain Camp intersection. From there back to the trailhead.
