Ascent Trip ReportThe trail to this remote peak was easier to follow than expected, although it was lightly traveled and a bit grown in. Getting to the trailhead is a bit of an undertaking, including over 5 miles of walking along old logging roads with two rivers to ford. One crossing, four miles in, featured a lot of beaver activity and was quite mucky. There is a sign once you get to the trailhead, and the fire warden's cabin is still intact about halfway up the trail. The ground house on the summit is in fine condition and offers great views of Katahdin, the Turners, Sugarloaf, and Chase Mountain. It took us 5:15 round trip, but we jogged the roads almost the whole way.
