Ascent Trip Report

I highly recommend going here, although it is a little bit of a let down that you can drive to the top.

However, when you see the view, you'll forget about it. It's absolutely spectacular. The fauna at the top is unusual, typical of a much northern alpine/boreal climate.

We left suburban Baltimore and the temperature was 93 degrees. At the summit the temperature was 54, cloudy with drizzle.

Do not attempt this after mid-October as the road to the top is not maintained and I imagine it starts snowing around then.
