Ascent Trip ReportI used Ken Jones directions to get here from Jackpot, NV. On approach along the main paved road, I saw a 5-6'+ rattlesnack crossing the pavement! A turned around to try and get a picture but it was gone. A cattle rancher pulling a horse trailer behind me saw the same and was stopped in the vicinity. He also turned around and headed to the scene, not sure why.
My fear of snakes, one I had been worried about yesterday after Ken Jones report of rattlesnakes on Jerome COHP, was again on my mind as I approached this high point. Ken's report was still good, although his report was some 13 years old and some of the junctions had faded. I was surprised at the number of campers, maybe a dozer or so near the top. Nobody was around any of them. Several hundred sheep were near the top and a sheep hearders camp was nearby.
The far east point held a register in a lipton ice tea bottle, but the pen did not work, so I didn't sign it. Only 3 names on a print out of the last page of Ken Jones trip report. The other southwest peak contained some sort of radio station with battery packs and solar panels someone obviously had set up on a temp basis. There was also a register on this side in a white pill bottle, but it had got wet and the paper inside was ruined.
