|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||6240 ft / 1901 m|
Ascent Trip ReportAbout 4 miles to Rachel Lake, then continue on the trail, steep switchbacks up the ridge. Trail forks about .5 mi later, at the top of the ridge. Left to Rampart ridge, right to Alta. I believe there was one more fork a little after this - you want to stay high on the ridge. Another trail forks off to the right to take you down to the lakes. Trail rambles along the ridge for a while, up and over many false summits. Maybe 4? And every single one fooled me into thinking this was the one, until I was on top and could see to the next one. The actual summit has an impressively large cairn at the top, so you can't mistake it. Class 1, with a handful of Class 2 spots where I used my hands. The beagle did it without assistance. It was a hazy day, so I couldn't see much, but I'm sure the views would be impressive on a clear day.
