Ascent Trip ReportWe began the hike to climb Mount Lowe at around 2 in the afternoon (passing through L.A. to San Diego, why not go for a hike in the middle of winter). We hiked up fast seeing the usual rocky scenery of the San Gabriel Mountains. At the top I saw Mount Markham through the viewing tube (~1 mile away) and decided why not hike that summit too. The trail for this summit from the main path is not well maintained and often required some scrambling. But the distance is not long (.4miles) and the view is well worth it. Not a single soul was seen on the trail (other than the gf). On the way down it starting snowing on us right before we made the car. Overall all it was a nice hike with better than expected views (probably due to the cold winter weather).
