Ascent Trip ReportFor the easy way to do Everett: From NY-22 in the vicinity of Copake, take NY-344 east toward and through Bash Bish Falls State Park. Once in CT, the road is named Falls Road without a route number. When it ends at West Street, go south on West Street for about a mile and then turn left onto Cross Road. Take it less than a mile and turn left onto East Street. Go about 1000' north and turn right into the Mt. Everett State Reservation on a good gravel road. Check the reservation's website for seasonal road closure dates. Drive the road to its end at a large parking lot, from which one can hike to the summit via the A.T. or combination of the continuation of the road beyond a gate and the A.T.
Less than a mile and about 500' gain to the summit. Note: All roads are paved except for the gravel road in the reservation. This is a much easier approach than driving the gravel road north from Salisbury, CT.
