Ascent Trip Report

Climbed from Snow Lake TH. There was still snow in the first gully past Snow Lake. I climbed on rocks up the right side until they ran out, then crossed the snow and climbed up the left side to the top. From there I found a climbers trail that headed towards the peak. Patches of snow obscured the trail in spots, but they were easily climbed or avoided. I continued directly at Unicorn and found the climbers trail through talus up towards the saddle between West Unicorn and Unicorn. This saddle still had snow and it was kind of steep to climb on the snow, so I climbed on the rocks on the left side. This was kind of sketchy in spots, but it worked. Once above the saddle there is a nice climbers trail up to the ridge near the summit.

At the ridge I could see the highpoint a couple hundred yards down the ridge towards Mt Rainier. I climbed the Class3/4 route on the right side of the block. This is a very STEEP and EXPOSED Class 3/4 route. I wished I had brought my rope for a rappel. Great views of Mt Rainier and all the mountains surrounding. The hike was a little buggy down by the lakes, but it was a great hike.
