Ascent Trip ReportFrom I-80, take exit 299 for Tannersville, and follow the signs for Big Pocono State Park. There are a number of turns, but the route is well-signed. Pass many facilities of the Camelback Ski and Resort, and eventually reach the summit plateau inside the State Park. As reported by Ed Wandall, the summit benchmark is reached by a use path about a hundred feet east of the fire tower. Camelback is noteworthy for being the nearest summit to New Jersey (a little over 12 miles) that is higher than the New Jersey state highpoint (High Point). From here we moved on to Low Knob, some 22 miles NE, which is the nearest higher summit to the NJ High Point.
