Ascent Trip Report

I climbed Leavitt Peak starting from highway 108 via the Blue Canvyon route. This ascend allowed me testing my new equipment for the Cascade peaks and practicing self-arrest techniques. The real challenge was fording Deadman Creek which was surging with spring run-off. There was snow all the way from the wilderness boundary to the summit. I summited shortly before sunset and bivouaced on the summit. The views of the sunset over the Sierra Nevada were amazing and made up for a cold and windy night.
