Ascent Trip Report

***Sierra Club Outing***
led by Mat Kelliher, Bill Simpson, Pat Vaughn

This trip included Throop Peak, Mount Burnham, Mount Baden-Powell, and Ross Mountain. Mileage and gain given for each peak includes the total (RT) for the entire trip. 22 of us on the trip.

Started out from Dawson Saddle on trail up to the PCT. At the PCT, 5 participants (Tanya Roton, Ted Lubeshkoff, Pat Arredondo, May Tang, and Mari Chous) continued directly on to wait for us on Baden Powell while the remaining 17 detoured to get Throop Peak and then Mount Burnham enroute to Baden Powell. From Baden Powell the entire group headed down a well defined use trail, very steep and loose in places, to Ross Mountain. From Baden Powell, the 2.7 miles to Ross Mtn included 2,300' of elevation loss, which we had the pleasure of climbing back up on our way out.
