Ascent Trip ReportI parked at a small turnout at the intersection of SR-138 and the access road that goes SE to McDonalds. Having made no effort to scout out other routes, I just started climbing directly north towards the summit.
After passing under a barbed wire fence, I first started up a steep gully, then climbed out to the right onto the even steeper south face. The face was extremely sandy and had me crawling on all fours to make upward progress. I tried to climb onto rocks when I got near them, but they were so steep, loose, and crumbly as to be dangerous. It probably took 20 minutes to climb to the summit.
Basically, it was a miserable (but thankfully short) slog. There must be a better way...
