Ascent Trip ReportOh what a day! Up the ski trails and on top of D peak by 7:20am for a strong start. Across Wildcat Ridge in spikes and decent speed. Down to the hut for a potty visit and up Carter Dome. I started to lose it on the dome. But made it and pushed on. Snow shoes for Hight and the downhill spiral started for Heather, across to South and Middle Carter and the decision was voiced to bail at North Carter trail, at the junction I re-decided and kept on. Oh well, right, the trail was very long in this section and I thought I would never make it to Moriah. We dropped packs right after the junction and labored the 1.4 to the summit and 1.4 back without water. I get back to my pack and take the last sip of my water. Drat. Down we start and the trail was shit. At least it wasnt long but it was demoralizing for me. Not my best day on the trail but Steve says he will hike with me again. Next time I will be better prepared, mentally.
