Ascent Trip ReportParked on Rt 47. The most unforgiving section is in the beginning on the yellow blazed trail as far as steepness and rockiness goes. Also crossed a few brooks and streams. A couple tenths of a mile past the 3500 mark the trees switch to mostly evergreens. Despite the fact that it was in the upper 60's in early May, there was a good amount of snow and ice covering most of the trail the final half mile or so from the top. At the top, if you walk just past what looks like the foundation of a fire tower, there's a large boulder offering great views to the east. Spent some time on top with a couple other climbing parties and then came back down. Ran into a group of boyscouts ascending on my way down. Gorgeous day for a hike.
