Ascent Trip Report

We followed Eric Noel's directions. DO NOT take a car, as logging activities near/at the 2995' intersection have completely torn-up the road system. There are several other bad sections along the route, too. However, it is possible for determined hikers to take a car and hike from the 2995' intersection or some other point of discomfort.

Of the three fire lookouts still standing on the Spokane Indian Reservation (with Tower & Wellpinit being the other two), I think this one has the best summit views (from ground level). The Spokane Mountain Lookout building is still standing, but it is anyone's guess for how much longer. We had a great view of the nearby Midnight Mine, an Uranium mining operation near the peak.
