Ascent Trip Report

Beautiful, cool, clear day. Kevin and I left Icehouse trailhead at 7:45. Made it to the saddle in 1.5hr, had a quick snack, and arrived at the top of Cucamonga in under 3hr. Portions of the trail between the saddle and Cucamonga were snowed/iced over, so we used microspikes and axe/poles the whole way, even over the few "dry" trail sections. Crampons would have been overkill, but I'd have been wary trying to traverse certain parts with no extra traction devices at all.

We continued to Etiwanda and bagged Bighorn, making the loop back to the saddle.

personal note - carried 7L of fluids but only consumed 3L water and .5L powerade
