Ascent Trip Report

The second of two highpoints climbed during a few hours spare on a business trip to Berlin. I drove North from Berlin to Prenzlau. Following the B198 through town and beyond, I eventually arrived in the small village of Woldegk. The communications mast near the hill is visible during th ejourney but if this is not enough to find it, take a right hand turn after entering the village before the main road itself makes a right hand turn. Follow this narrow road through some residential area into the country. Pass the turnoff to the comms mast and continue over a small summit at a steep bend. 100m beyond a farm track leads right. Park there and follow the level track until it reaches the base of the hill, where the ongoing route is marked by a couple of green signs. The summit is 5 minutes away and has a cross, trig point and bench, but little view as it is fully wooded. During my visit there was significant snow on the ground, unusual so late in the year. After returning to the car I drove quickly but carefully back to Berlin as it had started to snow as forecast..
