Ascent Trip ReportThe final in a series of low P150m tops in the Vosges in a day.
Having returned to my start point from a surprisingly unsuccessful attempt on Pierre de Laitre (see trip report for directions), I refuelled on banana and cake, and headed upwards again in the opposite direction. I followed the trail marked with little white signs on trees with yellow triangles on them, first generally to the east, and then, after crossing a dirt road, to the south. Shortly after ignoring a downward (right) fork, I came to a large sign proclaiming Roche d'Anozel 5 mins. Turning left up this steeper path (part of the GR533) brought me to a view point on a sandstone outcrop of Roche d'Anozel, complete with standard French trig point. Sadly the drizzle intensified again and the view was only of the inside of a cloud. Ignoring the continuation of the main path, I headed up a narrower path leading directly up the ridgeline which brought me quickly to he top. A second trig point was obvious less than a metre to the right of the path. I returned by the same route and gave up early for the day since I was pretty wet and the weather clearly wasn´t going to break.
