Ascent Trip Report

The trail I chose starts as an old jeep trail on the north side of road 9040, just before the snow lake trailhead. After nearly half a mile of scrambling up a few mostly dried up creek beds under a dense canopy of brush, the trail opens up slightly but this is clearly not an officially maintained trail. Shortly after i reached a sign pointing to a very overgrown trail to Snow Lake to the west, and a talus field leading to Guye Peak to the east. I headed straight through and quickly hit the first of 2 false summits followed by a two to three hundred ft. scramble. From there I had my choice of a few partially shaded trails the rest of the 500 ft. or so to summit. Traded pics with a pair of hikers at the top, and headed east toward Lundin Peak.
