Ascent Trip ReportThe trailhead is just south of mile-marker 11 on Hwy 123 (about a mile south of the tunnel). The first 2 miles is under dense canopy, the last 2 miles are mostly exposed. There are a few steep sections but most of the trail has a moderate grade, and very little exposed rock or roots to step over. Rainier comes into full view and Adams begins to peek outafter the first long switchback. The lookout tower is obscured from view until the last 500 feet.
