Ascent Trip Report

Arrived at an empty trailhead at 7am and started down the trail in thick fog. 2-3 inches of fresh powder on the ground after around 4500'. It began snowing just as we arrived at the lookout. The top of Baker peeked through the clouds a few times during the 3 hours I hung around waiting for the weather to clear and exploring the tower. Much thanks to the volunteers who do such a great job maintaining this piece of history. Probably the best cared for lookout of the 10 or so I have visited. The meadows just before the final push are astoundingly colorful this time of year.

As I passed though Everett I could see in my rearview mirror that the clouds had completely parted. I will be back for an overnight when the sky is clear in the future.
