Ascent Trip Report

***Private Outing***
led by Matt Hengst, Neil Robbins, Jack Kiefer, Jennifer Blackie

Matt's 2nd E-rock Provisional Outing. We spent three days in Arizona and California bagging peaks including Baboquivari Peak, Mount Ajo, and Picacho Peak.

3rd day of Matt's E provisional trip. Awesome climb! Drove far in with my Jeep and Neil's Tahoe. Walked up a wash onto the western side of the peak for a steep ascent to 3rd class rock. Two ladders on the way up; the first was made of wood and looked a little sketchy, the second was aluminum and tied down with pretty frayed runners. Great climb up along the ledges between ladders and onto the first belay spot. Easy roped climb, easy rappel, another easy roped climb, and then onto to the summit. One rappel, then prussik up the route we rappeled down on our way up. Left the summit just as the sun was setting and made it down off of the lowest ladder before dark.
