Ascent Trip Report

Highest point in the historic County of Suffolk, East.

The 'summit' is within one of two 90 metre ring contours occupied by an RAF airfield, is heavily fortified and has no public access. However, if you approach from Nedging Tye (Wattisham Airfield Gate 2) you can get within a few tens of metres of the most likely spot by walking the perimeter fence and then claim the ascent on moral and practical grounds. We also visited the entrance gate NW of Great Bricett to get as near as possible to the NE area but a guard with a sub-machine gun prevented further progress. N.B. the nearby 92 m trig point is in West Suffolk.
