Ascent of Mount Stimson in 2004
|Ascent Type:||Successful Summit Attained|
| Elevation:||10142 ft / 3091 m|
Ascent Trip ReportW Bob Packard. Great scenery. Major slowdown getting through burn devestation along coal creek the first day, but somehow got through and set up camp by nightfall. Despite a cold bivouac in Pinchot Creek at the end of summit day the se ridge route went well. These days Stimson is probably climbed often but it seemed pretty special to make it up there at the time. Bob was in his 60s. Force of nature, Bob. It was his final county highpoint visited in the western states.
